Frequently Asked Questions
1. What are you trying to accomplish by publishing Barbara Nelson Blinn's works so long after her death?
I was in the midst of raising my family when my mother died in 2005. Now that my children are raised, the timing seemed right for me to finish her work. I did not want to see her legacy die and I felt it should be shared in the hope that her writing would inspire others as it has me.
2. Why did you choose purple and green for the logo?
Green was my mother's favorite color. Purple was my dad's least favorite color. If you read Bullheaded Inner Strength, the book I wrote based on the true story of my mother's life and my childhood, you will read about my father and his abusive nature, as well as his control over our lives. We could not have any purple clothes, eat purple food, or have any purple decorations. I was severely punished once for eating a purple lollipop someone gave to me. The use of the color purple was a choice I believe Barbara would have made as a rebellious statement against him.
